Welcome to the NMR Analytical Core Facility!
The NMR Analytical Core Facility supports MSKCC researchers by providing education and access to analytical instrumentation and shared resources.
We also provide analysis on instruments including nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectroscopy, SPR, HPLC, and optical spectroscopy.
While our primary focus supports Chemical Biology and organic synthesis, all MSKCC research that can benefit from our facility is welcomed and supported.
Most, but not all, work concerns small molecules.
For short term analysis and for projects, samples may be submitted.
For long term projects it is possible to receive training and hands on access to instruments.
We are a Core Facility, part of the Chemical Biology program at MSKCC.

We also accept samples from non-MSKCC laboratories.
Various services are available for the following major instruments:
- High Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)
- Mass Spectrometric instruments including low resolution, exact mass, UPLC, and LC-MS
- Preparative separation services and access
- Spectrometric instruments
- Surface Plasmon Resonance for binding of either small or large molecules to antibodies/protein/and so on.
Many of our MSKCC researchers have hands-on access to instruments.
All researchers may submit samples.
Special targeted projects are welcome.
Training is required for hands on use of all instruments.
There are charges for most of our instruments and for technician time.
Charges are applied for use of instruments, technicians analyzing samples, training, and technicians developing methods and procedures.
Prices are available upon request.

High resolution SPR for detection of binding very small to large ligands to antibodies, proteins, etc.
While most SPR instruments can only detect large ligands, our instrument has the resolution to detect small/any size ligand!
Optical Spectroscopy
Polarimetry: Jasco P1020, P2000 measures optical rotation
Optional temperature control
FTIR: Bruker Tensor-27, Invensio-S
Can accomodate liquids, solids, pellets, cards. ATR for fast measurements.
Reference library available for comparison to sample.
UV-Vis: Cary-100, Jasco V-750
Scanning, time studies, single point measurements. Optional temperature control.
Our labs are located in RRL 1326, 1327, and ZRC 2134, ZRC 2132, ZRC 2123, and ZRC 2122.
